
Oakcrest School Graduation Set for May 24

A Baccalaureate Mass will be celebrated by chaplain Father Ronald
Gillis for Oakcrest School graduates and their families on Friday, May 24 at 7 p.m. at St.
John Church in McLean. The graduation ceremony for the Class of 2002 will be at Oakcrest
School, May 25, at 3 p.m., followed by a reception.
The commencement speaker will be Dr. May M. Keys, assistant professor of government and
international studies at Notre Dame University. Keys is a 1984 graduate of Oakcrest, and
received her bachelors degree from Boston College and her masters and
doctorate degrees from the University of Toronto. Keys has research and teaching interests
in political philosophy, with a special focus in ethics, Christianity and political
thought. Her article "Aquinas Two Pedagogies: A Reconsideration of
the Relation between Law and Moral Virtue" appeared in the American Journal of
Political Science in July 2001. She is completing a book manuscript entitled Virtue,
Law and the Common Good: The Relevance of Thomas Aquinas, and has received a
John M. Olin Faculty Fellowship from the National Association of Scholars.
