Father Hoyos Appointed to Presidential Commission

Father Jose Eugenio Hoyos, pastor of Holy Family Parish in Dale City, was appointed by President George W. Bush to be part of the Presidential Commission on Excellence in Education for Hispanics.

Father Hoyos will represent the Washington metropolitan area . "I feel very happy and honored to be named for such an important commission," said Father Hoyos, a native of Colombia who has served a variety of parishes over the last decade.

The misison of the Presidential Commission is to recommend policies to improve education for Hispanics around the country. The new commissioners will meet with the president the last week of this month.
