Diocesan Soccer, Volleyball Teams Near the Top

The fall sports season features some of the most dominant diocesan teams. Among the best soccer teams in the entire Washington region are the three girls’ soccer teams.

O'Connell is coached by Alberto Starace. Paul VI is coached by Meg Ashley, and Ireton is coached by Malcom Wilson. Both O'Connell and Paul VI are currently ranked in the top 10 poll.

In boys’ soccer, O'Connell is coached by Aldo Zito, Paul VI by Andrew Burk and Ireton by Ian Lewis.

Paul VI girls’ volleyball is also one of the most dominant teams in the region.

The Lady Panthers are coached by Jamie Petrik. O'Connell is coached by Michael Barrett and Ireton by Victor Troyan.

In girls’ tennis, O'Connell is coached by Bob Kluba, Paul VI by Craig Tutt and Ireton by Mike Hutton.

In cross country, the O'Connell boys are coached by Mike Hardy and the girls are coached by Nikki Bhalla. Paul VI boys and girls are coached by Melanie Gesker-Kiernan, while the Ireton teams are coached by Jim McGrath.
