Lilla Slighs Horkan, the mother of Father Edward R. Horkan, parochial vicar at Holy Spirit Church in Annandale, died suddenly July 21.

Visitation took place on July 23 at Murphy Funeral Home in Falls Church. Her funeral service was offered on July 24 at Immanual Presbyterian Church in McLean. Burial was at National Memorial Park.

Father Horkan offered a memorial Mass for his mother on July 25 at St. Luke Church in McLean.

In addition to Father Horkan, she is survived by her husband, William, and two sons. Cards or condolences may be sent to Mr. William H. Horkan, 1070 Carper St., McLean, Va. 22101.
