Special to the Herald
(From the issue of 1/20/05)
"Live Jesus 2005," the second annual Salesian day of recollection, will
be held on Saturday, March 5, at St. John Neumann Church in Reston.
Reflections on the theme of "Jesus, Gentleness and Me" will provide the
framework for the event, which will be hosted by the Oblates of St. Francis
de Sales.
The event will offer a Lenten focus for exploring personal relationships
with God through the lens of Salesian spirituality.
The keynote address, "Living Life Gently" will be presented by Oblate
Father Angelo Maraldo, director of development for the
Wilmington-Philadelphia Province. Oblate Father Kevin Nadolski, vocation
director for the Wilmington-Philadelphia Province and former principal at
Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, will offer his insight on "The Hope
of the Present Moment." Lastly, Oblate Father Richard DeLillo, executive
director of Nativity Preparatory School in Wilmington, Del., will speak on
"Doing Little Deeds with Great Love," describing practical applications of
Salesian spirituality in seemingly ordinary events.
Designed to offer opportunities for discussion, prayer, reflection and
renewal, the event will culminate in the celebration of the holy Eucharist.
Oblate Father James Greenfield, assistant provincial for the
Wilmington-Philadelphia Province, will serve as celebrant and homilist for
the Mass. Following Mass, lunch will be served in the parish center, while
the Bishop Ireton Orchestra provides entertainment.
