Eric W. Adcock will begin employment as the Virginia Catholic Conference’s (VCC) first associate director on July 10.
Formerly a Maryland resident, Adcock comes to Richmond with an impressive array of professional and educational experiences. A graduate of the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering) and the George Washington University Law School, Adcock has previously held posts as an associate attorney for a prominent Washington-area law firm and as a research scientist for Battelle Memorial Institute in Arlington.
“It is an honor to be selected as the Virginia Catholic Conference's first associate director,” he said. “The conference's mission to advocate respect-life, social-justice and education issues is of critical importance to the commonwealth. The conference has already made great strides, and I look forward to giving my best efforts to help it achieve even greater success in the future."
Reflecting on the newest addition to the conference’s staff, Executive Director Jeff Caruso said, “Eric possesses talents and skills that make him particularly well suited for legislative advocacy. More importantly, his personal commitment to the Church’s mission and teachings make him a glove-like fit for the work we do here. Needless to say, I look forward to working with him.”
Caruso also called this latest staff expansion “a key for the continued growth of our lobbying and grassroots capacities.”
Established in September 2004, the VCC is the public-policy representative of the Catholic bishops serving Virginia’s two dioceses.
