(From the Issue of 10/12/06)
Nearly 15 Bishop O'Connell alumni are playing college football of
various classifications. None had a bigger weekend that Jermey Trimble
(O'Connell '04).
Trimble is the starting junior wide receiver for Army. He recorded
two touchdowns in the Black Knights’ 62-7 drubbing of VMI.
Trimble caught a 15-yard scoring strike and also took a 76 yard punt
return "to the house".
On the season, Trimble, the eldest son of O'Connell Head Coach Steve
Trimble, has two other scores as well.
After 2 1/2 seasons of college football, Trimble has recorded 10 total
touchdowns (eight offensive and two via punt returns).
At O'Connell, Trimble played football for his father and also played
varsity basketball for Joe Wootten. Trimble's two younger brothers
both play for O'Connell this season.
O'Connell's last appearance in the WCAC football playoffs was when
senior QB Bush Hamdan and Trimble teamed up together in the fall of
2003.
