  • Catechism of the Catholic Church
  • Catholic Encyclopedia. The old Catholic Encyclopedia, published in 1913. Many consider this version superior to the New Catholic Encyclopedia, both for depth of scholarship and the solidity of the authors. Don't worry — most of the articles are still current after eight decades, because the Gospel is unlikely to go out of date.
  • Vatican II. As much as people talk about the Second Vatican Council, comparatively few people have actually read what it produced. With this site, you are without excuse.
  • Catholic Answers. Known as the largest, most effective apologetics organization in North America, Catholic Answers responds to hundreds of questions about the faith. They have a collection of tracts online, as well as a connection to their monthly magazine of apologetics, This Rock.
  • Apologetics Home Page. A grab-bag of information about the Church and other religions, with some worthwhile items if you're looking for things on other religions.
  • Catholic Alliance An independent, non-partisan Catholic citizens movement promoting the common good. It is not supported by, nor connected with, the Christian Coalition.
  • Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights The nation's largest Catholic civil rights organization, the League defends individual Catholics and the institutional Church from defamation and discrimination.

Catholic Art

  • Vatican Library. The Library of Congress hosted a 1993 exhibit on the Vatican Library and its holdings. The Web site was moved to the University of North Carolina, but the contents remain the same.
  • Christus Rex (full name:"Christus Rex et Redemptor Mundi") was chosen as one of the Top 100 sites on the Web by PC Magazine, and one of the five best virtual art museums. Its collection of images range from the good to the spectacular, and includes items from the Vatican Museums, the city of Bethlehem, and churches from around the world.
