    Oakcrest School, a grades 6-12 independent school for girls is moving to Vienna, VA and seeks candidates for the following positions:

     

    Science Teacher – grades 9-12: Long-term sub April – June 2017 + Full time Position 2017 – 2018

     

    Applicants should possess: A minimum of three years’ experience teaching science within a range of grade levels (10-12) • Bachelors in Chemistry or Physics is preferred • Exhibit a passion for teaching science • Excellent communication skills and an understanding of the developmental needs of adolescents, especially those of adolescent girls.

     

    Spanish Teacher – grades 9-12, starting August 2017   Applicants should possess: Master’s (preferred) • Native or near-native Spanish proficiency (required) • Minimum of 3 years teaching experience
    • Ability to teach a range of Spanish classes, from Spanish 1 through AP Spanish Language/Literature.
    • Experience with the Communicative Approach required.

     

    Math Teacher –  grades 9-12, starting August 2017   The qualified candidate will be in charge of teaching Algebra II, Pre-calculus, and AP Calculus. Applicants should possess: Minimum three years teaching experience in a rigorous, college preparatory program at the Upper School • Experience integrating technology into the curriculum • Desire to involve oneself with the school community beyond the classroom.

     

    Director of Academic Information Technology, starting July 1, 2017   The qualified candidate will:
    work collaboratively with all Oakcrest employees to develop and implement a cohesive academic technology vision and curriculum. • Design and lead professional development workshops to promote technical skills and strategies for purposeful use of technology in teaching. • Teach Middle School Technology, programming and the AP Computer Science Principles class.

     

    Information Technology Specialist, starting July 1,2017  The qualified candidate will: provide day-to-day management, maintenance, and support of the IT department, including data network and backup systems, firewall and security issues, databases, servers, printers, and telephone systems. • Manage vendor relations, procurement, installation, and implementation of data. • Manage inventory of all school-owned or leased equipment including desktops/laptops, iPads, SMART Boards, projectors, copiers, and printers.

     

    Bus Driver for the 2017 2018 school year   Applicants should possess or have the ability to obtain: CDL Operator’s license with required endorsements. • Must be 21 years of age. • Must possess valid driver’s license for 3 years or longer. • All driver applicants must pass a background check and are subject to regular drug testing.
