What is National Catholic Schools Week?

First slide

National Catholic Schools Week, which runs this year from Jan. 31 through Feb. 6, is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. "Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service" is this year's theme that schools will observe through Masses, open houses and activities for students, families, parishioners and the community.

Daily themes suggested by the National Catholic Educational Association include: Sunday - in our parish; Monday - in our community; Tuesday - in our students; Wednesday - In our nation; Thursday - in our vocations; Friday - in our faculty, staff and volunteers; and Saturday - in our families.

Through these events, schools focus on the value that Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to the church, the community and the nation.
