Arlington Bishop Paul S. Loverde will lay his hands on the
heads of eight men during a combined ordination ceremony at
the Cathedral of St. Thomas More in Arlington June 6 at 11
a.m.
The bishop will ordain Colin Davis to the diaconate. Seven
deacons will be ordained to the priesthood including: Dort
Bigg, Kevin Dansereau, Joe Farrell, Drew Haissig, Brian
McAllister, Rich Miserendino and Noah Morey.
While all are called to serve the Lord through Holy Orders,
the men have followed different paths to reach this point.
The ordinandi include: a classically trained violinist;
physicist; convert to Catholicism who served with the U.S.
Army in Afghanistan and Iraq; technical writer; former member
of the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets; English literature
major; Eagle Scout; and a lay volunteer missionary. The pages
that follow provide a glimpse at their backgrounds and some
of the influences that have helped them answer the call to
the diaconate and priesthood.
