Cardinal Wuerl to speak at higher education conference

Washington Cardinal Donald W. Wuerl will give the opening
address for “The New Evangelization and Higher Education: The
Vision and Pope Francis,” a conference at St. Vincent College
in Latrobe, Pa., May 23-25. The conference will explore such
topics as social media and the new evangelization, campus
ministry and missionary discipleship and public universities.

Cardinal Wuerl serves on a number of Vatican congregations,
including those for the Doctrine on the Faith and for
Bishops, and chairs numerous committees of the U.S.
Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Other speakers for the conference include Carolyn Woo,
president and CEO of Catholic Relief Services, and Los
Angeles Auxiliary Bishop Robert Barron, founder of Word on
Fire Catholic Ministries.
