Ethnic diversity earns recognition for Marymount

Marymount University in Arlington ranks first for ethnic diversity among regional universities in the South, according to the 2016 edition of "Best Colleges" published by U.S. News & World Report. Marymount tied with University of North Carolina-Pembroke for the top spot.

"We are pleased with this recognition and take great pride in having a diverse student body and a welcoming campus community for all," said Matthew D. Shank, Marymount U. president. "It's all part of our ongoing commitment to creating a culture of engagement that fosters intellectual curiosity, service to others and a global perspective in our students."

Overall, Marymount ranks 53rd out of the 618 "best regional universities in the South."
