5k to support Options Program

Saint John Paul the Great Catholic High School in Dumfries will host the JP5k Run for Options Nov. 21 at 8 a.m.

Organized by the JP Family Association, the run/walk features a timed, certified course that begins and ends at the school, winding through the Potomac Shores neighborhood. Proceeds from the race will support the school's Options Program for students with intellectual disabilities.

"The JP5k is one of our favorite community events and one of the most effective ways for us to raise awareness about our Options Program," said Sister Mary Jordan Hoover, John Paul principal. "We are proud to offer these special young men and women a full Catholic high school experience, including customized instruction appropriate for the individual."
