Senior Hanna Ashby was a force in goal March 19 as she led
the Paul VI Panthers over the Bishop O’Connell Knights 12-5
in girls’ varsity lacrosse. The game was played in Fairfax.

Ashby’s athleticism and aggressiveness around the goal
prevented the Knights from mounting any serious offensive
threat.

Offensively, the Panthers relied upon juniors Hannah Kurisky
and Bailey Koehler to force their way into prime scoring
positions.

For the Knights, it was a far cry from their March 18 game
against Saint John Paul the Great High School in which they
scored 21 goals. Senior Shannon Cross was the lone bright
spot for O’Connell.

In a weekend tournament at Annandale High School, the Knights
won two games and tied the host team, 14-14.
