Several beautiful cakes were served at Friday’s Fish fry. The Knights will host another fish fry March 27. The Knights plan to serve Irish soda bread as the desert instead of cake.

Despite the frigid temperatures that dipped into negative
degrees, the St. Jude Knights of Columbus managed to fry up a
slew of catfish, cod, hushpuppies and fries at their Lenten
fish fry Feb. 20.

“There was some serious doubt if people would come with it
being so cold,” said project manager Roman Marciniak. The
Knights and volunteers soldiered on with the help of a tent
and a 59,000 BTU construction heater. The fact that 241 meals
were served by the end of the night proved their efforts had
not been in vain.

Half of the night’s proceeds are ear-marked for the St.
Jude’s building fund, with the other half going to the
Knights of Columbus. The Knights will host another fish fry
March 27.
