Arlington Bishop Paul S. Loverde has written a new pastoral letter titled, “Fountain of Life, Fire of Love: A Pastoral Letter on the Heart of Christ.” The complete text of the letter can be found here.

In the letter the bishop suggests a few practical ways to honor the Heart of Christ. “First, we can offer our prayers, works, joys and sufferings of each day to the Heart of the Lord,” he wrote.

“Second, we can honor the Heart of Christ by our attendance at daily Mass or at least whenever possible during the week.

“Third, we can make a formal act of consecration to the Heart of Jesus.”

Bishop Loverde will consecrate the whole diocese to the Heart of Christ on Nov. 20, the solemnity of Christ the King, at the Cathedral of St. Thomas More in Arlington. He invites each parish to join him in this act of consecration on the same day.
