Weekend planner: July 13-15
Well, another workweek has come and gone and it’s time for the weekend. If you’re looking for something to do in the next few days, here are a few of the many events planned around the Arlington Diocese. On Friday, young adults will gather at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary Church in Alexandria for a Holy Hour, with time for confession, silent prayer, and a praise and worship session led by Marie Miller. Afterward, the group will head to Chadwick’s Restaurant on 310 S. Royal St. for food and fellowship. Saturday, the Prime Time Single Catholics will meet for a walk in Reston, starting at 4 p.m. at the Potomac River Running Store at Reston Town Center. Later that night, the St. Cecelia Group is sponsoring a lecture, “Painting a Path to Heaven: Art in the Life of Faith.” The fourth in a series, the lecture will take place at 7:30 at the St. Mary Lyceum in Alexandria. Sunday, all families are invited to attend a Knights of Columbus family breakfast, hosted by the Edward Douglass White council at their council home in Arlington from 9 a.m. to noon. Later, be sure to stop by St. Ann Church for a bake sale after all Masses that will benefit an upcoming Commissioned by Christ mission trip to Peru. Also Sunday, young adults are encouraged to attend the Catholic Sports Club Field Day at Burke Lake Park from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. There, the crowds will enjoy hamburgers and hotdogs, volleyball, soccer, football, and other sports. For these and other upcoming events, be sure to check the Catholic Herald calendar. Have a great weekend!
