Special to the Catholic Herald

The Summit Academy in Fredericksburg has been recognized by the diocese as an independent Catholic school.

Founded in 2016, it is an independent, classical, college preparatory high school and middle school for grades 6-12.

Rooted in Catholic tradition, its academic program is based on the Great Books and liberal arts tradition. The academy utilizes single-sex instruction and offers small class sizes where students work with original sources and texts and learn through active participation in Socratic seminars.
