Throughout the year, Marymount University in Arlington has hosted a variety of events in honor of its 75th anniversary. But the festivities are not over. This fall, the university will host events ranging from a Marian pilgrimage to artistic showcases of campus talent.
Sept. 26, the university will sponsor a daylong pilgrimage from the campus Sacred Heart of Mary Chapel to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, with Mass in the basilica’s crypt church at 10 a.m., followed by lunch and tours of the basilica. Transportation is included.
Oct. 10, soprano Emily Casey will perform a Marian music recital at the Sacred Heart of Mary Chapel at noon.
Oct. 17, Marymount will host a homecoming weekend Performing Arts Showcase, featuring chamber singers, a pep band, cheer team and dance team in the Reinsch Library Auditorium, 7-8 p.m.
Oct. 24, retired string members of the U.S. Army Band will perform an anniversary concert at the campus chapel at 7:30 p.m.
Dec. 4, Marymount’s chamber singers will perform a Christmas concert at the campus chapel at 7:30 p.m. In honor of the university’s anniversary, the singers will unveil a Christmas CD.
