Ecumenical anti-poverty ministry raises $273,000

The Lamb Center, a Fairfax-based, Christian ecumenical ministry supporting people experiencing homelessness and poverty, announced it raised a record $273,000 during an annual banquet at Falls Church Marriott Fairview Park in Falls Church Oct. 9.

More than 500 guests heard testimonials from former clients whom the ministry helped through tough times.

Several diocesan parishes have supported the drop-in shelter, which opened in 2016, including St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Clifton; St. John Neumann Church in Reston; St. Mark Church in Vienna; St. Mary of Sorrows Church in Fairfax; and others.
