St. William of York School in Stafford has been recognized as a Catholic Education Honor Roll School by the Cardinal Newman Society.
The pre-K through eighth grade school joins fellow diocesan schools — St. Rita in Alexandria, Saint John Paul the Great Catholic High School in Potomac Shores and Seton School in Manassas — in achieving this recognition.
Since its inception in 2004, the Cardinal Newman Society has recognized high-performing Catholic schools nationwide.
St. William of York School underwent an internal and external review of its catechetical, spiritual and academic programs before receiving the designation. The review cited the school’s integration of Catholic identity across its curriculum and community life. Students participate regularly in prayer and sacramental life, including Mass, adoration and communal devotions throughout the school year.
