Families embraced the idea of a screen-free weekend at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and school in Vienna March 13-15, using the time to reconnect through games, shared stories, and meaningful conversations about life before digital distractions.

Journals were available in the narthex from Friday to Sunday. Many children stayed to draw, write and reflect. Parish organizers noticed more student volunteers at the fish fry and altar servers at Stations of the Cross.

Based on the number of journals picked up, at least 300 individuals used them to participate in the Diocesan Days of Unplugging promoted by the diocese and Bishop Michael F. Burbidge.
