Hibernians elect new state board

At the recent 21st biennial convention, delegates of the Virginia
Ancient Order of Hibernians unanimously elected a new state board for the
2017-19 term.

 

The new board members are: President Bill Halpin from St. Patrick
Church in Fredericksburg; Vice President Jay McCarthy from St. Theresa Church
in Ashburn; Secretary Brian Kiernan from St. Mary Church in Henrico; and
Treasurer Bob Fay from Our Lady of Hope Church in Potomac Falls.

Virginia has 14 AOH divisions with a membership exceeding 1,000
men. The delegates thanked immediate Past President Gene Bransfield for his
leadership during the past two years and look forward to a future of growth and
prosperity.

The Ancient Order of Hibernians is the oldest Catholic lay
organization in the United States and the oldest Irish-Catholic organization in
the world.
