A Mass for people with special needs, organized by the Knights of
Columbus Council 11136, was held at St. Francis de Sales Church in Purcellville last month. Father Stefan P. Starzynski, chaplain at Inova
Fairfax Hospital, celebrated the Mass.

“We are seeking to transform how we view suffering; we see that
suffering can be a gift, that suffering can be redemptive, that suffering can
help heal us and make us whole,” said Father Starzynski in his homily.

“But this is only when suffering is carried with love. We then
discover that our cross feels less heavy and can even bring great spiritual and
physical fruit for ourselves and those we pray for.”

Following Mass, the Knights Council and the Ladies Auxiliary hosted
a reception in the parish center.
