Nearly 40 parishioners from St. William of York Church in Stafford braved the chill and rain Oct. 2 to stand and pray for life in unison with countless others around the country. Life Chain Sunday is an annual peaceful and prayerful public witness of pro-lifers.
Since 1987, pro-lifers have gathered nationwide on the first Sunday of October to prayerfully stand for life. A rosary was led by Father Will Nyce, parochial vicar, who noted the historic significance of the recent overturning of Roe vs. Wade. He encouraged all in attendance to continue their ardent efforts in support of a “culture of life in the United States from conception until natural death.”
Parishioners were greeted with encouraging words and honking horns from numerous passing vehicles.
