A diocesan symposium on the Eucharist, with Philadelphia Archbishop Emeritus Charles J. Chaput, will be held Oct. 22 at the Cathedral of St. Thomas More, 3901 Cathedral Ln., Arlington, beginning at 9 a.m.

The event is part of the celebrations counting down to the Diocesan Golden Jubilee in 2024. This year is themed “Remember,” harkening to Jesus’ words at the Last Supper, “Do this in remembrance of me.” The theme coincides with the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops launching a multiyear Eucharistic revival.

The symposium will begin with Mass, celebrated by Bishop Michael F. Burbidge and concelebrated by Archbishop Chaput. Following Mass, there will be a reception, a reflection by Archbishop Chaput and Q&A. The event will end with adoration and benediction at 12:30 p.m.

Previewing the symposium on “The Walk Humbly Podcast” Sept. 28, Bishop Burbidge called the archbishop a gifted writer and speaker. “Those who will be attending, you will be very enlightened,” he said.
