Students at St. John the Evangelist School in Warrenton are getting involved in service projects in their community.
This spring, the student council will coordinate a school drive to support the parish Pro-Life Club baby shower in May, which will benefit a local pregnancy center. At the start of the school year, the student council joined the parish’s club and spiritually adopted a boy and a girl with the goal of praying for them throughout the year.
Before Thanksgiving, students collected and donated more than two carloads of food for the parish chapter of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Last fall, students participated in SOCKtober to collect socks for those in need. With a goal of 200 socks, the students collected nearly 1,000 pairs, which they donated to Hope Heals in Warrenton.
