The Spanish-speaking parishioners of St. Joseph Church in Herndon took to the streets for their annual Marian procession May 7.
Parishioners processed through downtown Herndon carrying a statue of Our Lady of Fatima atop layers of roses. They prayed the rosary and sang Marian hymns on the way to the church. Many passersby honked and waved in approval, and some joined in prayer.
The event was organized and supported by the Legion of Mary, Cenaculo de Oracion, German Serrano, Guadalupe Navarro, Elizabeth Vargas and the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Good Samaritan Council 6175.
