Organizers of the 42nd Catholic Charities Ball announced they hope to raise $1.4 million at the popular annual event in February.
They made the announcement last month at a donor appreciation reception attended by Bishop Michael F. Burbidge, diocesan Catholic Charities President and CEO Stephen Carattini, ball co-chairs Aimee Viana and Alyssa Garcia, and special gifts committee chairman Alan Holmer. More than 100 Catholic Charities donors attended the reception at St. Luke Church in McLean.
The 2024 ball is scheduled to take place Feb. 2 at the Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner.
Young adults who want to support Catholic Charities without the full ball dining experience are invited to attend Mingle & Mix at the Ritz, a concurrent cocktail reception for adults under 35, who later join the party dancing on the ballroom dance floor.
The 2023 Catholic Charities Ball raised $1.6 million to support Catholic Charities ministries, including those that feed hungry neighbors, ensure families and individuals can pay their rent and utility bills, and provide free medical care to adults.
