Distinguished Service Award goes to Notre Dame sociologist

The Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities presented the 2024 President’s Distinguished Service Award to Mark Gunty of the University of Notre Dame at a Feb. 3 awards dinner in Washington.

Gunty is the undergraduate analytics program director and an assistant teaching professor of sociology at Notre Dame. He also serves on the advisory board for the Catholic Identity and Mission Assessment Project sponsored by ACCU.

Other awards presented that evening include the Fr. Theodore Hesburgh Award to Jesuit Father Joseph M. McShane, former president of Fordam University in New York City; and the Monika K. Hellwig Award to Kathleen A. Mahoney, senior program officer for global development at GHR Foundation in Minneapolis.
