Night to Shine was an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for approximately 100 people with special needs ages 14 and older at All Saints Catholic Church in Manassas.
Every guest enters this complimentary event on a red carpet complete with a warm welcome from a friendly crowd and “paparazzi” photographers. Once inside the parish activity center, guests receive the royal treatment, including hair and makeup touchups, shoe-shining stations, corsages and boutonnieres, a catered dinner, prom favors and dancing. Each Night to Shine guest is crowned a king or queen of the prom.
Parents and caregivers joined the guests of honor. The nearly 200 volunteers — who did anything from work in the kitchen to cheer on the red carpet — included 120 “buddies” who accompanied the guests throughout the night and joined in the fun. Together they ate dinner, took photos in the photo booth, rode limousines and danced the night away.
At the end of the night, a special video message from former football player Tim Tebow, who popularized the national campaign, was played.
