Students and seminarians raced across the Basilica School of St. Mary in Alexandria for the 18th annual Seminarian Sprint fundraiser May 30.
Students of all ages ran around the school and cheered each other on to support seminarians through the SEEF (Seminarian Education Endowment Fund), an endowment created to encourage support of seminarian education in the Arlington diocese.
“Thank you to all the parents and parishioners for their generosity in supporting the education of our Diocesan seminarians,” said Carlos Briceño, director of communications and evangelization at the basilica.
The day was filled with camaraderie and collaboration as students and seminarians enjoyed the sunny weather and ran together. Seminarians also made classroom visits to discuss their journeys in faith and connect. During a school assembly, students spoke with the 14 seminarians and asked questions about religious vocations. After a day filled with laughter and friendly competition, the event raised $6,200.
