First slide

New principals join diocesan schools heading into the 2020-21 school year:

Bethany Hamm, interim principal of St. Rita School in Alexandria, earned a bachelor’s in history from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, a master’s in security studies from George Washington University in Washington and a law degree from Georgetown University in Washington. She taught high school history for nine years and has worked with children in various summer enrichment programs and religious education. She and her husband, Paul, have been parishioners at St. Rita for six years, and their children attend the parish school.

Maria Tejada, principal of St. Ambrose School in Annandale, earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in education from Marymount University in Arlington in 2002 and 2018. She has taught for eight years in Fairfax, including at St. Leo the Great School, where she served both as assistant principal and on the development committee from 2018 to 2020.
