Fr. Cozzi appointed parochial administrator at St. John the Baptist in Front Royal

Father Phillip M. Cozzi, parochial administrator at St. John the Baptist Church in Front Royal effective Nov. 1, was born Aug. 14, 1975, in Falls Church. He grew up in Annandale where he was a member of St. Michael Church and attended the parish school.

He graduated from Bishop O’Connell High School in Arlington in 1994 and the University of Virginia in Charlottesville in 1998 with a bachelor’s in philosophy. After considering a law profession, he discerned a call to the priesthood and attended seminary at the North American College in Rome. He was ordained June 10, 2006.

Father Cozzi has served as parochial vicar at St. Leo the Great Church in Fairfax (2006-08); St. John the Evangelist Church in Warrenton (2008-11); St. Timothy Church in Chantilly (2014-17); St. James Church in Falls Church (2017-18); and St. John the Baptist  (2018-20). He also served as chaplain at O’Connell (2011-14).
