The Guadalupe Free
Clinic of Colonial Beach recently received a grant from the Joe and Mary Wilson
Community Benefit Fund of Mary Washington Hospital Foundation. The grant will be used to defray operating
costs and purchase medications and medical supplies for clinic patients this
year. Mary Washington Hospital has supported the free clinic since its
establishment in 2005.
The
clinic provides free medical care for the poor and uninsured residents of
Colonial Beach and Westmoreland County. The Guadalupe Free Clinic is operated
by a small staff and many volunteers. The clinic operates on the grounds of St.
Elizabeth of Hungary Church in Colonial Beach and is supported solely by grants
and donations from private individuals.
