The roar of motorcycle engines could be heard over the brisk morning
wind Dec. 13 as a brigade of Fairfax County Police escorted Santa Claus to St.
Ambrose School in Annandale.

For the past three years, the school has teamed up with the local
police station to participate in Santa’s Ride, a program where toys are donated
to local hospitals for the children who will be there over Christmas. The jolly
old elf enjoyed his first visit to the school and was accompanied by Mrs. Claus,
Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and Frosty the snowman. Students gave hugs and high-fives
to the Christmas crew who thanked them for the four giant boxes of toys the
students donated.
