Rivera leads St. John's Cadets over Paul VI Panthers at WCAC game

St. John’s College High School of Washington defeated Paul VI Catholic High School of Fairfax 54-49 to capture its second straight Washington Catholic Athletic Conference basketball championship. The game was played Feb. 26 at American University in Washington.
Junior guard Carly Rivera led the Cadets with a career-high 16 points. Guard Ashley Owusu scored a game-high 25 points for the Panthers.
On the boys’ side, DeMatha High School of Hyattsville, Md., defeated Gonzaga College High School of Washington 54-53 to capture its first basketball title since 2011.
