Virginia Catholic Conference backs ‘Born-Alive’ Proposal

The advocacy arm of the Arlington and Richmond dioceses, the Virginia Catholic Conference (VCC), endorsed the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act (H.R. 619) in an April 12 action alert.

The VCC called on the faithful to contact their U.S. representative and urge support for allowing a vote on the proposal, which would require that infants who live through an attempted abortion receive the “same degree of care to preserve their life and health as would be given to any
other newborn baby,” the organization said in its alert.
