St. Francis de Sales Church in Kilmarnock hosted author Margaret Margeton April 10 to speak about what Catholics today can learn from the parish’s patron.

Margeton, a longtime member of the St. Francis de Sales Association (also known as the Daughters of St. Francis de Sales), has written two books about the popular saint. Her most recent work, “Personal Encounters with the Love of God: St. Francis de Sales and the Sacraments,” was featured in the Catholic Herald last year. Readers in Kilmarnock saw the feature and invited Margeton to speak.

A parishioner of St. Ann Church in Arlington, she presented a synopsis of her personal studies of the saint and his writings. Approximately 60 parishioners attended the discussion followed by a luncheon.
