Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Each year from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15 the United States celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month, a national celebration to commemorate the profound influence of Hispanic Americans and the contributions made by their ancestors from Latin American countries. In a special way, we recognize those who have enriched our Catholic faith with their beautiful devotions and unique spirituality.
Our Lord Jesus instructs us to welcome the stranger, and Pope Francis reminds us that: “The Church” is a Church “without frontiers, a Mother to all” that “spreads throughout the world a culture of acceptance and solidarity.”
During this month, let us strive to deepen our appreciation for, and unity with, Hispanic Americans.
May Our Divine Savior continue to grant us appreciation, love and respect for one another, now and always.
