Vatican workers unwrapped a Christmas tree in St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican early Nov. 23. They used a crane to hoist the Christmas tree into place. The 90-foot tree from the Maira Valley near Turin, Italy, will be lighted Dec. 9. After Christmas, the wood will be made into toys and donated to Caritas, an international confederation based in Rome that focuses on emergency responses to crises as well as policy and advocating for the poor.
