Bishop Braxton to speak on religion and the racial divide in the U.S.

Bishop Edward Braxton of Belleville, Ill., will give two talks at
The Catholic University of America, 640 Michigan Ave., N.E., Washington, Sept.
21. The bishop will share his personal experiences of the new awareness of the
racial divide and the need for Catholics to address it during “The Catholic
Church and the Racial Divide in the United States” in Father O’Connell Hall,
Heritage Hall at 3 p.m. It will be livestreamed at bit.ly/cuabishopbraxton.

 

He  will then share his
painful personal experience of attending the wake of 14-year-old Emmett Till in
1955 during “The Catholic Church and the Black Lives Matter Movement: The
Racial Divide in the United States Revisited,” in the Edward J. Pryzbyla
Center, Great Room at 8 p.m.
