Bishop Michael F. Burbidge signed the LARCUM Covenant Dec. 1
during the opening session of the 2017 Virginia LARCUM Conference at St.
Stephen Episcopal Church in Richmond.
The LARCUM Covenant stands as a mark of the visible unity,
conversation and cooperative ministries among the four Christian faith
traditions in Virginia: Lutheran, Anglican, Roman Catholic and United
Methodist.
This year’s conference theme was “500 Years Later: Ecumenical
Dialogue as Gift and Call.” The keynote speaker was Sister of Charity Susan K.
Wood, professor of systematic theology at Marquette University. She currently
is president of the Catholic Theological Society of America.
The Dec. 2 sessions were held at various Christian churches in
the Richmond area, including St. Bridget Catholic Church.
