Bishop Ireton Cardinals win fourth straight WCAC lacrosse title

Reilly Casey scored four goals to lead Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria to its fourth straight Washington Catholic Athletic Conference girls’ lacrosse championship over Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Olney, Md. The game was played May 13 at Ludwig Field in College Park, Md.

Ireton has won five of the past six WCAC titles. Sydney Foster scored three goals for the Cardinals, while Briana Lantuh added two. Sophomore goalie Ashley Bowan made six saves. The final score was 11-7.

On the boys’ side, Gonzaga College High School of Washington defeated St. John’s 8-6 for its second straight WCAC title.
