Bishop O’Connell High School’s Greczyn named top male athlete

Senior Max Greczyn of Bishop O’Connell High School in Arlington was named Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year after finishing first in both the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter races at the 2019 Washington Catholic Athletic Conference Track and Field Championship. The two-day meet was held May 17 and 18 at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Olney, Md.

O’Connell freshman Katherine Slovak was named Female Freshman of the Year after winning the 3,200-meter race, while O’Connell sophomore Tess Brinkman won the 1,600-meter race. Sophomore Matthew Smith of St. Paul VI Catholic High School in Fairfax finished second in both the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter races.
St. John’s College High School of Washington finished first overall in the girls’ competition, while DeMatha Catholic High School of Hyattsville, Md., won the boys’ title.
