Prayer service

St. Martin de Porres Prayer Service, hosted by the diocesan Advisory Council on Racism will be held Nov. 3 at St. Joseph Church, 711 N Columbus St., Alexandria, at 7 p.m.

The guest speaker will be Ricky Malebranche, a diocesan seminarian.

Mass, keynote, award

“We’ve Come This Far by Faith: Continuing to Write the Vision,” hosted by the diocesan Multicultural Ministries’ Black Catholic Ministry, will be Nov. 4 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 2700 19th St S., Arlington, as part of November’s Black Catholic History Month.

Servant of St. Joseph Father Anthony Bozeman, academic dean of St. Joseph Seminary in Washington, will celebrate Mass at 5:30 p.m. and deliver a keynote address at 7 p.m.

The presentation of the Fr. Augustus Tolton/Mother Mary Lange Award will follow.

Black Catholic History Month Mass

Mass for Black Catholic History Month, sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Ministries’ Black Catholic Ministry, will be celebrated by Bishop Michael F. Burbidge Nov. 5 at St. Thomas à Becket Church, 1421 Wiehle Ave., Reston, at 11 a.m. A reception will follow.
