Last month, a group of 17 students from the Catholic campus ministry at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg joined more than 20,000 of their peers from around the country in St. Louis. They attended SEEK, an annual conference for college students hosted by the Fellowship of Catholic University Students. FOCUS is a Catholic outreach program founded in 1997 for American college students. SEEK is a five-day conference “to encounter Jesus Christ and draw deeper into relationship with him and his church,” according to their website.
Father Rich Miserendino, director and chaplain of the Catholic campus ministry at the University of Mary Washington, accompanied the students.
While there, the students attended inspiring talks, Masses, and adoration, and participated in fellowship. They also met with some of their Catholic heroes, including Father Mike Schmitz, a well-known speaker, author and podcaster, and took in some of the local sights.
