Volunteers unloaded 40,000 pounds of food donated from Salt Lake
City at Trinity United Methodist Church in Alexandria March 11.
The food, donated from the Humanitarian Services department of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was sorted and delivered to Our
Lady, Queen of Peace Church in Alexandria, as well as the nonprofit Casa
Chirilagua, Grace Episcopal Church, Christ Church and Rising Hope to help feed
hungry families.
The volunteers included members of Trinity United Methodist
Church and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as well as other
churches, firefighters, Boy Scouts and members of the community.
