The diocesan Office of Marriage, Family and Respect Life will sponsor a
weekend retreat for adult children of divorce July 30-Aug. 1 at San Damiano Spiritual Life Center in White Post. The retreat will begin Friday at 6 p.m. and end Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

Many adults don’t even realize they carry invisible wounds from their parents’ divorce, said Alexander Wolfe, diocesan program specialist for marriage and one of the co-leaders of the annual retreat. The program was developed by the Catholic nonprofit

Life-Giving Wounds, which offers a healing ministry for adult children of divorce.

“It takes a lot of courage to go on the retreat, but it’s always surprising how joyful retreatants are after having an opportunity to connect with others who have been through the same experience,” Wolfe said. The retreat includes group presentations and prayer times as well as sharing in small
groups. Other presenters and co-leaders are Art Bennett, Father Jamie R. Workman and Sarah Hart.
